The direct answer
Yes. DGT’s current application form lists English as an available language for the common Class B theory test. Select the language on the application or tell your autoescuela before it submits your file. The practical journey, road vocabulary and administration still expose you to Spanish, so English theory preparation should include core Spanish terms.

What the official form confirms
The MOD. 04/2026-11-ES test application lists Spanish, co-official languages, English, French and German for the common A1, A2 and B theory test. This is stronger evidence than a driving-school promise because it is the form used to request the test language.
Language availability does not make every part of obtaining a licence bilingual. Your medical centre, school, road signs, practical lessons and examiner instructions may be in Spanish. Treat the English test as one helpful accommodation, not an English-only licence journey.

How to book the English version
- 1
If you use an autoescuela, ask it to record English before it submits your exam application. Get that choice confirmed in writing.
- 2
If you apply independently, use the official DGT application route and choose English as the theory-test language on the form.
- 3
Check the appointment notice when it arrives. If the language is wrong, contact the school or Jefatura before exam day.
- 4
Bring the identification shown on your appointment and arrive early enough to resolve an administrative mismatch.

Why English learners still get caught out
A translated question can be grammatically correct and still feel unfamiliar. Words such as “carriageway,” “hard shoulder,” “give way,” “dipped beam” and “built-up area” may not be the English you use every day. Memorising an answer shape is fragile; learning the rule and the Spanish anchor term is more durable.
- Read the official-style version first, then reveal a plain-English restatement.
- Keep the same answer IDs across English and Spanish so translation never changes the answer key.
- Practise under the real one-minute-per-question baseline once comprehension is stable.
- Build a small Spanish command deck before practical lessons begin.

Frequently asked questions
Does every DGT office offer the Class B theory test in English?
+
The current national application form lists English for the common Class B test. Confirm the chosen language on your application and appointment because local scheduling and administrative handling can still vary.
Can I take the practical driving test in English?
+
Do not assume that an English practical test is available. Prepare to understand concise Spanish driving instructions and ask a local autoescuela what its provincial exam centre currently supports.
Is the official English wording easy?
+
It can still contain formal British road vocabulary. Study the underlying rule, a plain-English version and the key Spanish term instead of memorising only one translation.
